Wagstaff & Cartmell funds million-dollar scholarship at the University of Kansas School of Law
The University of Kansas School of Law announced that the Kansas City–based law firm Wagstaff & Cartmell has made a $1 million gift to its existing Wagstaff & Cartmell Scholarship Fund. The additional funding will continue to support outstanding law students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and a commitment to advancing the practice of law.

For aerospace engineering Ph.D. candidate Brody Gatza, coming to the University of Kansas was an easy decision. Gatza, a native Kansan, said he was drawn to KU for both his undergraduate and graduate studies because of its great aerospace engineering program and generous scholarships.

Sky isn’t even the limit: KU research project lets farmers check their crops from space
Farmers in Kansas and across the U.S. can now assess the state of their crops via satellite, thanks to the Sentinel GreenReport Plus. Researchers at the University of Kansas, with help from KansasView and TerraMetrics Agriculture, made the project possible.

Healing the heartland: STORM program sends students to practice medicine in rural areas
This summer, first- and second-year students at the University of Kansas School of Medicine are participating in a program that allows them to gain medical experience in rural areas across Kansas. The Summer Training Option in Rural Medicine, or STORM, is an elective program available to students at all three School of Medicine campuses: Kansas City, Salina and Wichita.

Liam Thurlby was sitting in his high school AP government class when he realized his future dream job. Originally from China, the KU School of Education & Human Sciences student was taken not only by the differences between the government in the U.S. and his home country, but the enthusiasm that his teacher, Mr. Thomas, presented the material.
